Chauncy Glover’s entry into the world of journalism was swift. Just two days after graduating, he began working at WTVM News Leader 9 in Columbus, Georgia. After gaining a solid foundation in Georgia, he moved on to Jacksonville, Florida, where he worked for CBS 47 and Fox 30.
In Jacksonville, he was tasked with covering a variety of stories, including a notable interview with a figure known as the “Hollywood Hacker,” Christopher Chaney, who discussed issues related to celebrity email breaches.
His career then took him to Detroit in December 2011 when he joined WDIV Local 4 News. Chauncy later joined KTRK ABC13 in Houston, where he began as a weekend anchor. His role expanded over time, and by 2018 he became the station’s first Black male main evening anchor.
In 2023, he moved to Los Angeles and joined KCAL, where he co-anchored alongside other experienced journalists. Throughout his career, he maintained a consistent presence across various cities, including Columbus, Jacksonville, Detroit, Houston, and Los Angeles.

In 2014, after witnessing a tragic incident where a teenager died during a robbery, he decided to establish the Chauncy Glover Project [2]. This mentorship initiative was designed to support young men of color by providing guidance on everyday skills such as etiquette and academic preparation.
Over time, the project has helped over 350 young men gain admission to college and has reached out to more than 1,000 others.

While we grieve this profound loss, we are comforted by the outpouring of love and memories shared by those who knew Chauncy as the passionate, gifted soul he was. We kindly ask for privacy as we mourn and honor his incredible legacy. He was taken from us far too soon, but his impact will be felt forever.”
While details surrounding his passing were not disclosed then, on February 19, 2025, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Chauncy Glover’s death was ruled accidental. According to the report, his passing was due to acute intoxication from a combination of chloroethane and methamphetamine[3].
